A patient Zhao, male, 32 years old, and cadres, suffered from primary hypertension. He heard that antler extract, also known as pantocrine, could lower high pressure and fortify his health. At 10:00 on March 6, 1980, he paid a visit to a commune doctor, who prescribed him a 2 ml antler extract delivered by intramuscular injection. The pantocrine was produced by Yitong Pharmaceutical Jilin Province and the batch lot was 780701. About half an hour later, he had symptoms of upset, palpitations, and then fell to the ground unconscious. About 5 minutes later the doctor arrived on the scene and gave emergency treatment. But the patient died finally.

Antler farms, I dislike how you patrol the internet for comments about deer antler that don’t fit with your program. This is one of few websites that actually provide a side effects and contraindications section, and for that, I am thankful, because I am experiencing stomach issues from taking your capsules, antler farms. You would have everyone believe that deer antler is a miracle drug without side effects, but be real. There are side effects to anything you put in your body.

Certainly there are potential side effects to anything you take. We do not believe deer antler velvet has no side effects, as we caution against overdose on our site: Symptoms of deer antler velvet overdose include bloody nose, dizziness, headache or red eyes. In these cases, reduce the dosage or discontinue use.

As for your experience with upset stomach, start with smaller doses and take the capsules with food. Then increase gradually to your desired dose.

The case cited above of the death of a patient is extreme. He had 2ml (equal to an entire bottle of our product) of extract INJECTED into his muscle. This is not typical of how deer antler velvet is administered. Deer antler velvet traditionally is consumed, not injected, in its natural form, in a far smaller dose. Thanks for the citation, admin.

I was psychologically nervous at a naturopath appointment, possibly the nervousness could also have been due to an unconfirmed Lindane (a pesticide) exposure. The naturopath gave me a small amount of Elk Horn tincture. I do not understand how it worked but I was able to breath better and relax in the mind. It seemed very potent however it worked.

I would love to hear from a practitioner on this page who might wish to describe if this is a common effect from Elk Horn tincture? This site seems like it could be very helpful and I am grateful for its creation.

It is a good way to put deer antler velvet in sealed packets and then keep it in the fridge. No matter how long you keep it there, it will be safe as long as this herb is not thawed, damp, mildewed, and moth-eaten.
